Srt-10
Is it 40 series muffler or 40 series muffler system?? There is a difference there. I'm sure that Flowmaster does not have a cat-back system for our cars. He could have a 40 series muffler with 2.5" (hypothetically) piping. I could be wrong though
I know when I had a 40 series on my Cavi it did 2 things real well
#1 made tooooo God damn much noise! It resonateed thru the car horribly!
#2 at around 4000rpm the car would actualy take off due to the scavenging effects of the muffler. It netted me just a tad over a tenth in a 1/4 mile but it made my ears bleed!

ok a 40 series is just a muffler, i ran it on my balt for over a year. guess what? its a terrible muffler, its flow rating is way below most other products out there. dynomax ultra flo is a much better muffler
Wow your the first person who's called Flowmaster a horrible muffler!
I've run em all my big block cars for their scavenging effect. Dynomax may flow more on a bench but on a car where the exhaust presure changes the Flowmaster has that negative presure chamber that pulls the exhaust out of the engine once the flow gets high enough. All I know is Flowmasters are about the only muffler that will drop underhood temps, make more HP and even drop the engine's temp.
Not saying Dynomax are bad but for serious HP cars you can't beat Flowmaster.

they aren't... if i'm spending $70,000+ on a car it better run better than 13's (~12's at sea level). they handle very well, and have great top end. thats where they shine, they are a good road race car, not a good drag race car. Yes, they are faster than 99.9% of all cobalts, but I couldn't really call a cobalt a fast car either. respectable, yes. fun to drive, you bet. fast, eh, not really.
maybe its my baisis against mopar, or the majority of the people that drive them, but I really don't like vipers.

exactly I'm confused, but I do know the 40 series is only a muffler, and not a cat back. I posted a link on the first page. It was a common muffler with the H-pipe set up on stangs
I can believe you on this one no problem! Good run.
Oh and a side note the 1/4 mile time you quote for the SRT-10 truck is a car with a professional driver and uber tuned by Dodge before it got tested so the number is likley skewed some .1 -.3 or so.

Not flaming, not starting anything I'm just curious is all. I don't tend to believe ever hyped manufacturers test I go for the more un-biased tests performance magizines do.
Hell Flowmaster even has its own NHRA series of cars!
I said the same thing about Flowmaster!
Usually manufacturer times and magazine times are SLOWER than real life. They don't "UBER TUNE" anything.
Last track day there were several SRT-10s, one actually set the record for a quad cab Dodge 10.7 at 125+, but there were a few stock ones, one was running 13.4s like it was going out of style.
w3rd!
You are joking right??? Look at that dudes 60' you raced a guy that was there just for fun or had NO CLUE what he was doing.

The mph is all you look at when talking roll racing. I know he sucked, and likely so did this guy. 95mph is not going to beat much. They are not Vipers, that is for sure.
You dont know what yourtalking about man. I have a friend who writes and reviews for motor trend online and does test car segments and has confirmed this on numerous occasions with manufacturers. When you are comparing your car in a competitive arena why would you use retarded logic and bring out the slower car??? So you dont sell more cars and your competitor does??
The cars they bring out are the ones that are the best of the best of what they have to offer. Look at the issue of Sport Compact when the STi was being tested. They had an STi running in the 13's in stock trim and people on the street complained when they took their cars to the track they could not best the time.
N/ADC5 im glad you posted this, i was about to mention that guy, and belive me it was not very impressive...
1) This guy is not the only member to post a kill on a SRT-10. People have had better races with them.
2) They're heavy as all hell!!
3) No weight to get the power to the back wheels. they're not all that fast, OR aerodynamic.
Though there is also the fact the guy could have not be that good of a driver, but still. Give him credit.
