lowering the pressure is good for off line traction AKA wheel hop but when going 100+ the car will feel unstable

A far as getting traction, poly control arm bushings along with a poly motor mount will do more than any set of rims and tires. our biggest traction problem is wheel hop. Wheel slip can be controlled much easier and you can still move foward while peeling out. If you are wheel hopping you might as well be driving backwards. A new set of tires and rims might help the wheel hop a little bit, but the poly mounts will all but kill it. THEN you can think of getting a new set of rims and tires, but I'd wait untill you get the Intense kit or some other serious power package. Hell, look at tofu. That fool ran a 13.8 with a 2.0 60ft on the stock tires and stock rims. Why...because he changed some of his mounts to poly. Also, if you did manage to cut something like a 2.0-2.2 60ft with that 100 mph trap, that woulda been damn close to a 13.0 sec run.

Oh yeah, please, for god man, sake put a muffler on your car before the Payson run. Either that our you're riding in the back of the pack, that thing is intollerable.
fine went and got a muffler put on

His run is entirely possible.

I lost my slip but I posted the break down on RL forums when I ran it. I went 14.4099 at 96.19 iirc with a 2.3x 60. 14.2 is entirely reasonable given his trap speed...If I had got like a 2.1 60' I would have been there hell I was only .01 seconds away from a 14.3 bone stock...even down to the tire pressures.

Also lowering tire pressure doesnt really make sense...you are making the tire go into an underinflated situation with the sidewalls being overloaded and the middle being underloaded. Run your recommend tire pressure...it is all in your head.

I had an 01 WS6 from 00 to 03 and ran 20-24 psi every time I went to the track and cut 1.8-1.9 60 FT times with the car from the time it was stock til I put nitrous on it. The stock f1's the BFG dr's and the nitto dr's all gave me the same 60 ft times. Stock I was trapping 107 and with the nitrous I was trapping 119 and the car was completely stable in a straight line, you just had to use some common sense cornering and reinflate the tires after you were done. For the front wheels I had them set at 40 psi to decrease rolling resistance. The only difference in my car and the guys who were cutting 60 ft times over 2.0 was the tire pressure. Do not run the car on the highway like this. I also found that my best runs were when I was very slightly spinning the tires out of the hole.

I ment breaking into the 13's(ie, 13.97), not actually hitting a 13 flat. My mistake for not making that more clear. I was also talking about victoryred's car. He's running his ss/sc without a muffler and it sounds aweful.

Damn straight, that thing was making a nasty racket, man. If you didn't get one by the time we went to payson you were going to have to ride in the back of the pack for everyone's else sake. But you're cool now, heh.

wether its awd, fwd, rwd, lowering the tire psi helps with launching; although 20 psi is a little low.

seeing as how he had a low ass 60 ft means he had damn near no wheel hop or lose of traction meaning the trap will be lower than what you would think. allthough im not sure if i beleive the 60 ft time. unless you have drag radials i dont think it will be below 2.2 and maybe 2.1
