Who runs Hoosier 225/50-16 DR's?
I'm looking for reviews from those who run this tire. (hoosier#17320)
What 60' times have you achieved?
From what info I have been reading, I understand this is a "cheater slick". Is this correct?
Does the sidewall wrinkle like a traditional bias slick?
Thanks for any info. -Dan

I really like these all my buddies run them on there F- bodies and they hook pretty well, I ran them on the street and they worked very well. If I find my old slips I could show you I was getting 2.1 2.0 60' and that was launching at 4k. but I have heard on FWD that you do need a full slick to get good traction

I ran those Hoosiers for a bit, they are no where near a real drag slick for performance, the sidewall is quite a bit stiffer.
I have OTTP rotated mounts, and one launch I took off too hard and I got wicked wheel hop.
Just grind your calipers down a bit and run 15" slicks.
I am running 24.5 x 8.5 x 15 M&H Racemasters now and they are soo much better.
Even on a really cold night with no prep I still managed one 1.828 60ft launch on them.
I would just go straight to a 15" slick if I were you.

How much grinding is involved with your setup? Which rims did you go with?

Went with these cheap wheels:

You don't have to grind a lot of material off, but it takes awhile because the caliper metal is pretty hard.

Kevin, you are running an 8.5" slick on a 6.5" wheel? How is that working for you? JW cuz I am shopping for wheels for some slicks. I am looking to go 15", but can't find something wide enough (would prefer 8" wheels).

A wider wheel would give you a better footprint, but the slicks worked pretty well even on a 6.5" wheel.
1.828 60 ft on a 38f night with no track prep.
And on a really warm day with good prep on the one pass I got at a 5k launch it bogged the motor down to 1900 rpm.
