06 lsj p0017
Customers car. 06 lsj. Brought it to me with a timing kit and said it was getting p0017 after pulls.
I take the car out, it died on me just coasting.
Codes were p0017 for the camshaft/crankshaft, maf, and scip.
Cleared em, car wouldn't restart. Not even try to crank. Get it back, has a dead battery.
Charged the battery then it clicked like it had a bad starter. Battery was at 13.8v and starter had 12.1v to it.
Security light flashes but doesn't stay on.
Timing chain is taught and has the new style tensioner on it as is.
Changed the crankshaft sensor, cylinder 4 at tdc on compression. Lined it up. Still nothing.
Changing the starter and putting a new battery in it.
Should I go ahead and retime the motor as well just to make sure its 100%? Only other thing I can think of is the crank sensor being bad.
Trying to help him save a bit of money as theres a good bit of other stuff the car needs.
