Aftermath of Broken Transmission Mount

Well, here's the pics of my broken tranny mount, you may have heard about it from my other thread.

Without further Adoo, the pics:

My Thread on the subject:
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/problems-service-maintenance-69/tranny-mount-shattered-35292/

Well, I ended up paying $200 dollars to have the dealer replace it. Also, I was lucky to find out that there was no further damage to the engine or transmission as a result. On the bright side, Cobalt Performance Parts has agreed to start development on Poly Mounts for us 2.2 and 2.4 Automatics, which Vendors don't like to show too much love for.

When the Poly Mounts come out I will make sure to get one and test it out for you guys. In the meantime, I suggest checking out CPP, they're a great Vendor!

Don't worry, the vendors will pay alot more attention after 2008 when the SS T/C uses the same tranny as all the other Cobalts.

The same tranny as the other Manual Cobalts. In any case it doesn't affect me in any way, LMAO.

Well, I do have my car lowered on sportlines, and there wasnt anyway to prove how it broke, so I didnt have much grounds for arguing

Wow, I never looked at the stock mount to really see what a weak part it looks like. There's really not a whole lot of metal around the bushing, I wonder how much more it would have cost GM to make the thickness of that rib the full width to increase the strength of that portion since it's obviously the weak point of the mount?

The Automatic mounts are different from the Manual Mounts

hey bro you are aware the burdon of proof lies on the dealership. if they can't prove you hit something with it or abused it they have a responsibility to replace it as a defective part.
