HPS pads will be more quiet for sure. I have HP+ on my SS/SC and I have the same noise that you are describing. I installed them as per Hawks instructions with the grease on the backing plate of the pad. I have the same noises you describe. When the brakes are dead cold, you get about 3-4 moderate brake applications that are more or less noise free and then as they warm up the noise gets louder.

I have found that when autocrossing, my first runs have loud brake noise as everything gets up to temp and then the runs afterward are relatively quiet. They are a great pad and I am not too worried about the noise. Why, because racecar! lol

 

You would be going backwards in the performance department. Stock pads will out perform HPS. Just because you put new rotors on doesn't mean that you have to switch to some other type of pad. I do however recommend putting on new pads when you put new rotors on.

 

My Stock Brembo pads squeak sometimes too. For a DD car they are fine but for the Track I would still run a race pad without a doubt.

 

Brembo's have Ferodo pads stock. People have tracked with these pads without issues but if you were going to track the car a lot then yes get track only pads and rotors. Make sure you put in DOT4 fluid though because it sucks having your brake pedal go to the floor without pressure when you need brakes.

OP, the Hawk HP+ pads are known for being noisy, but it's a sacrifice for having more grip and less fade than the HPS pads (which are quite quiet and make little dust... but also fade quickly, from my experience). It's all a tradeoff about where you place your priorities or what the goal for the car is.

If you're going for both quiet and a good balance of stopping power and fade resistance, go back to the stock pads. They are excellent performance pads that are still able to maintain their DD-ability. The only real downside to them is the amount of dust they produce.

 

That;s what I was thinking. I'll probably order a set of Ferodo next week

You dont have to tell me. I've seen the difference and remember how much you liked the Hawk Blues we put in your car. And I would still run a full race pad over the Ferodo pads just cause I know how well the race pads work at the track.

I know have Ferodo pads just adding that they do squeak a little sometimes and dust quite a bit too. But for DD driving I would order another set.

 

It comes down to this - keep your track pads for the track, your street pads for the street, and get used to swapping them

I'm not going to go to the track often, expecially util my engine is built. I'm looking for good and very quite pads, so I guess I'll go HPS

 

Can't help ya cause my own are all inventory but rattling to they ever squeal. Probably the only factor I really dislike about the my lnf.
