Centerforce DFX Clutch Review W/ Pics

So my stock clutch has been slipping for a while now. And now I finally got around to getting a new one. It's been installed for a few days and I've got a few hundred miles on it so far. And let me say it's an awesome clutch. At first I was worried that something went wrong with the install because their is almost no pedal effort with this clutch. But after driving it for a while and talking to some people. The soft pedal is just how the clutch was designed. And it is an amazing 6-puck street clutch, it slips just like a stock clutch for normal driving. But the hotter the engine and tranny gets from just driving, the clutch and pedal feel just as strong as it does when it was cold from start up. Unlike the stock one which would be strong and harsh at start up, but get softer and softer slipping worst and worst after only like 10 min of driving normal. But this DFX will not slip no matter how hot it gets. Now I haven't gotten on it yet due to break in period, but I'm positive that it will hold strong no matter what I throw at it.

So all in all I'm really happy with the purchase.

On a side note the only thing that I can complain about is it chatters really loud. It makes my car sound like its got a lifer stuck or something :shrug03:

I have no clue, I had a local shop do it. He had the car for 2 days. I wouldn't even consider doing it myself without access to a lift

The hunch that it won't shift right at high rpms. I think that you will be fine though, it's just the Centerforce clutches are noisy. ClutchMasters had that issue along with the original Spec ones

No, what happened to the original aftermarket clutches designed for our cars is that they would shift fine at lower RPMs, and then they simply would not shift at all and disengage properly at high rpms period. I went through that as part of my whole fiasco with the three ClutchMasters clutches I had!

That's what I thought from reading the couple DFX threads.

I'm getting the DF as soon as my clutch goes or before summer is over. How do you like the lighter flywheel, revv up faster? Im doing it myself so I'm anxious to get started on it.

yeah it revs up faster, its not the lightest flywheel out there but im sure theres a reason for it. Like i pmed a guy the hotter this thing gets the harder it grabs I love it and the pedal feel is something to get used too. lol but it is nice in traffic
