not worth the trouble to do a swap. most shops won't touch a project like that because the profit is not worth the headache. my cousins shop did a auto to 5spd swap on a 1997 maxima and it was a nightmare. i def don't see GM even entertaining the though even if you buy the part from them

I'm sure it could be done, but it would cost way too much. You can't just swap out the automatic for the manual. Not only would you need to swap out them out, but then you have to run the linkages and clutch <- that is the easy stuff. I do believe the transmission has its own control module, so you would have to either reprogram the computer or swap out your PCM for a manual car's PCM and get a relearn done on it. These are just the things I can think of off the top of my head, there is probably more. A shop is going to charge you probably upwards of $5K for parts and labor (and that is probably a LOW estimate). It would be cheaper to just sell the car and get a new one with a manual.

Not worth the amount of work and money you'll have to put in. I'd imagine it'll be a computer and electrical nightmare.
