Clutch Advice

Hey Everyone,
Ive been having clutch issues lately. When the engine is reved, my clutch does not want to disengage properly, leaving me locked into gear.

Ive changed/flushed/bleed my clutch fluid, and it came out black with floating things in it.

However a test drive revield that my problem still exists....

So the only thing I see that could shed more light is to take the clutch apart and look.

So I would like opinions, advice on a new clutch

Also should I get the ZZP Upgraded throw out bearing?

I voted other and I think you should look at the KY clutch. Can't beat the quality for the price. And yes you should get the TOB from ZZP

Other! KY Clutch @ Turbo Tech Racing, best in value and price.

We sell the TOB with the kits, it is the "upgraded LNF" one for all kits (2.0L based)

Seriously get the GMPP clutch. I love it, handles the 345whp like a charm.

Quality is the best. It is the hotest selling clutch for the cobalt for us. We ship many kits each and every day of these.

Question : If I"m going to have a new clutch installed. Do I need a new rod? I heard the stock rods like to get bent? Where do I get an upgraded rod? I think I saw one on ZZPs sight though

I have the GMPP clutch...Im going stage 2 after the sin city bail out comming up here next weekend....the stage 2 can handle up to 300 hp....and....its the same exact clutch that is in the LNF motor( I checked..the part numbers match up)....the stock LSJ clutch goes out due to the pressure plate not being able to handle boost in first gear....thats why it dies early...I got it from CED just like the stage 2....cant beat it....IMO

Some people have issues with the stock rod but not all. ZZP does sell an adjustable one but unless you actually bend yours or don't like the engagement point of the new clutch its not really necessary

Well, since the GMPP clutch won by alot that's what I went with. I baught the better TOB from OTTP since ZZP was sold out. I just got my GMPP clutch and steering knuckles today. Clutch came with the better TOB so let me know if anyonw wants to buy an unused TOB as now I have two.

Made appointment with the shop for monday. Now I must make transportation arrangments as its an all day job.

Update:
I dropped my car off at the shop thismoring . Clutch has been having issues, not disengagning after reving over 5500 rpm. Well, The guy at the shop just called and said that I had a aftermarket Spec Clutch. I thought I heard it rattleing a few times. Haha I had no idea the previous owner had replaced the clutch already I thought I was still on the stocker. Well anyways, I got the GMPP clutch. He said when he took it apart, that they didnt see anything wrong. That kinda suprised me. I was expecting SOMETHING to be messed up. Well the GMPP clutch needs a diffrent flywheel then the Spc, so that wont be in till tomarrow. If he gets it noon tomarrow he should have it done by COB Tomarrow wich ill be at work so I can probably get it wensday.

Yup already have the kit, PN 19212712
See websight Ecotec LSJ Clutch Upgrade Kit 19212712

But the shop called, said they have to change the flywheel, since some one put a spec clutch on it before I baught it. He said they were diffrent sizes. So tomarrow arround noon the new flywheel comes in. Yay Hes getting it from the local dealership.

Hopefulyl this will fix the issues Ive been having. He said they didnt see anything wrong and one of the guys was like "Why are we changeing the clutch?"

I told him how it goes above 5500 rpm and it doesnt want to disengage properly. Hopefully I can get my car back Wensday, as they hopefully will be done with it Tuesday, but I have to work so Ill have to ge i before work wensday.
