Clutch concerns

I took my buddy for a spin lastnight in the Cobalt. Did a late 1st gear and 2nd gear pull. And then another 2nd gear pull after a stop sign. I did not experience slippage or anything. After which the clutch felt FIRM and would not seem to release completely. Then it randomly felt like puddy. Anyone run into this? I'd do more research but I am freaked out and am at work

sounds like the throwout bearing is going out and starting to stick which would explain the hard pedal and difficulty with disengagement. it may have also damaged the slave cylinder if the bearing was stuck while you pressed the pedal which would explain the puddy feeling. the salve and tob both come in a single assembly.

Saber, u were right - the throwout bearing is def going. When I have the clutch pushed in, no rattling noise. When clutch is out, i hear a humming rattling. Have had throwout bearings go bad in my life, def the bearing (just never had the symptoms above before)
