Give the tech guys at Spec a call and ask them, that's what I did. I am sure they will be straight with you. They answered every question I asked. Here is the number and web site.

if any lsj owner's are runing CM clutches they are JUNK.. and IIRC you can get a refund for your clutch.. there have been a FEW RLF'ers that have had this happen to them with a CM clutch.. if ANY of you think it's the stock clutch that has issue's look at paul's now turbo balt.. he put allmost 30k on his stock clutch with a bigger SC build than 90+ % of you cobalt guy's and IRL guy's.. then surpassed it by going turbo and got a few k miles on it then it went.. so HOW are you ruining your factory clutch with less power AND less abuse?? and dont even try and say paul was easy on his car.. he has gone through axel's i know cause he tryed helping me with my axel problem allmost a year ago when i snapped one.. and i was stage 2 with bolt on's on an IRL

If you are doing the work yourself then no problem. It is just that when you are paying someone to do it and the parts fail it can get expensive to have to take everything apart and fix it. It is nice to have access to a shop. I would do most of the work on my car myself also if I had a shop. It would not hurt thought to give spec a call and check with them. A friend of mine was going to use his stock flywheel and was recommended against it.

Now these are just recommendations. What you take from it is your own.

cheers and I hope everything works out for you.

PS. Make sure you change the Slave/Throwout bearing also or you will regret it down the road.

when I start my car when it is cold, the clutch makes a high pitch humming noise. When I put the clutch in, the noise goes away. It has done this since new, and I only have 3000 miles on it now. It's not my driving because i never drop or slip the clutch. Like I said before it did it when it was new. anyone with the same noise?

My clutch (Spec 3 and Fly) when it is cold has to warm up. I normally let the car warm up to 50*C before I take off anywhere. If I do not let it warm up on cold days and I take off it will chatter quit loudly. You have to remember these are performance clutches and have to be treated that way. You will not see a drag or race car run down a track unless it is at operating temps so why not treat your car that way.

cheers and I would not worry about it.

I do let it warm up to operating temps before i drive.. this happens when my car just sits there and I push in the clutch. the high pitch humming seems louder the colder it gets.

thats what most dont know...as long as you car isnt abused...i.e. bald tires (noticeable stuff) and you can prove you can drive stick....you can get a clutch warrantied....its not a myth..i promise.....i won't tell all, but lets just say I didn't pay for my CM.......keywords: "unorthodox warranty claim"......that's all i'm saying.......
