Clutch Selection

Have a 2006 SS/SC with almost 60k now.

Currently its stock with a GM Stg 2 kit.
Pretty sure the slave is going/bad so a member here and myself are going to replace it with the LNF one. Since the trans will be open I want to toss in a new clutch kit as well. Been looking at the GMPP kit or a South Bend kit from ZZP. Which should I go with?

Future goals include keeping the m62 and upgrading to stage 3 with a custom HP Tuners tune. This will probably be installed by spring time along with a ZZP long tube, 3" DP, Intake, dual pass option B, OTTP heat exchanger, and suspension.

the gmpp can support 300whp or torque, i'd go with that.

right now i'm stg2 (ottp 2.8 & 60#s) and longtube header/dp and intake pretty much.

i replaced my clutch with gmpp along with all the other lnf goodies like the shift linkage and slave. everythings fine, never slips! bite point is right at the bottom of the pedal and feels great. along with zzp axles and a short shift my car feels MUCH stronger than before. -- i know this because i test drove a balt with just stage 2 nothing else and it felt ...weak

if nothing else for the price u just can't beat it

GMPP clutch is worth its weight in gold if your not planning an ultra high hp build. Its the only way to go. AND it comes with an LNF TOB

if you have a daily driver that you ocasionally may take to the track, the gmpp clutch is plenty. it holds enough power for what 90% of what people are doing, has good engagements (doesnt chatter) and has a stock pedal feel. really, you cant ask for anything better.

Gmpp clutch. Don't ask me how but it's holding 450+whp. Can't ask for anything more from it. Drives like a factory clutch.

Ive looked around and I am going to go with the GMPP. Should be perfect for my goals and it seems to be the most cost effective solution.

this. Thier is no camparison with any other clutch, Get the GMPP its the BEST bang for your buck and will hold just about anything you can throw at it! I had it in my s/c and LOVED it! I only wish their was something similar for the LNF.

Quick question before ordering.

For my 2006 SS/SC
Ecotec LSJ Clutch Upgrade Kit 19212712
Cobalt Clutch Pipe 24422067

Then from a 2009 SS/TC
Just the slave cylinder (no part number listed)

Are these the only things I need to do my clutch? Already have an alignment tool.

I'd honestly love proof of a Gmpp clutch holding 450ftlbs since clutches are rated at ft lns and not whp. Id also like to see proof of people with the Gmpp having more then 350whp without blowing the clutch.

But does it come with the better LNF one or with a replacement LSJ one?

The next dyno day that comes around, you will have your proof. S256et on 25.5psi, e85 and 24* of timing. Gmpp clutch like a champ

Hope you dont get a faulty LNF TOB, I'm on my 2nd one and the 2nd one is a piece of garbage too, Looks like Imma need to get another one, All within a 4 week period! It makes a ton of noise, I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy! GM is having a TON of Issues with the LNF TOB right now. ZZP dosent even stock em anymore.

Do you have a link or something discussing it? I would go with another LSJ one but I am under the impression they don't make it anymore and replacements are left for the LNF TOB.

Bluelightning is running the gmpp with an aggressive tuned tvs. He's at least at 300wtq If not better. Drag radials and 7krpm launches. It's sticking the power no problem.

Just E-Mail ZZP and ask them, Believe me they'll tell you. I would get a LSJ one, Trust me its been a Nightmare with the Faulty LNF TOB's, You can also call Crate Engine Depot and ask them, They will also confirm the Bad LNF TOB's.
