Do I need to replace my clutch?
Do I need to replace my clutch?
I got an 09 SS/TC with about 7200 miles on it, got full bolt ons, about to get it tuned, im hoping to hit around 325-330 whp and tq, will i need a clutch replacement, or will the stock one hold, and if i have to replace it, then would be a good replacement
yeah dont do that... i got mine tuned and i only have an intake... and well lets say going 60mph in 5th gear and i floor it... i get some slip...
that's more tq than it is designed to handle (200) so there is an increase chance that you will kill it eventually, especaally if you are using all that power. If you are cruizing around at 25mph all day it will last forever.
If you have reason, money, time now to pull the tranny and replace the clutch go ahead and do it. If not, just anticipate that you may have to eventually.

I did that once on the highway in my stock SS/TC, boost went up but car was very slow to accelerate. I don't think the clutch was slipping though, the rpms were slow to rise. If it was slipping the rpms would rise rapidly or sporadically?

Your clutch should be okay at the power you mention as long as you aren't slipping it a lot and you know how to drive.
