Engine making loud knocking noises on startup :(
I recommend you buy the bolt from Crate engine depot, it would cost so much less in shipping, we live in Canada u know, and the border adds cost. I get them from CED anyway. His prices are the best.
Also, reading these threads, I am thinking a group of you folks in one location should get together and pool some money and spend 150 bux on the shop manual set , also available from Crate Engine Depot. the information there would really help all of you. Its not available on cd regrettably, and I am not sure I want to spend my time scanning pages and posting them up here. lol

Depends on where you get it, and how much you pay for bandwidth. It's BIG (150gb)!!

Some/most internet providers charge you based on how much you download. So it might cost you $10 to $50 to download Alldata depending on your package with your ISP.
Fight the limits, always sign up a company that offers unlimited!!

yeah well we only have two ISP's here. Comcast and Century Link and both have caps.
what are you trying to check, if its the main tensioner, you don't need to take that cover off, on the passenger side on the back side of the head next to the exhaust you'll see a big nut, thats the tensioner, its a 32 mm, all you have to do is pull that out and you'll see if its pad
yeah, the bolt that powell is talkign about is actually behind the cover that that cover bolts to, their's about ten 10mm bolts and a 13mm bolt that you need to take out to get that cover off, and the engine mount, and the harmonic balencer, but their is another chain and tensioner down in the bottom of that cover too for the balence shafts and the water pump
O God then I was looking at the wrong thing..... I got a p 0017 which is timing correlation like 3 times 2 or 3 months ago.. would that be the tensioner? .... Wish u lived closer lol
check this link out too, got a little info that may help
