f23?

ok i got a question. i have a 2006 cobalt SS 2.4L and it grinds from 1st to 2nd gear at like 4000 rmps. i think its my syncros. i know it might be the clutch as well but the mechanic says that it feels like it is internal. anyways i found a f23 tranny that has 34000 miles on it out of a saturn ion 2.2L. will it be compatible with the current mounts and engine in my cobalt?

It should yes, if it where me, I'd get an f23 from a hhr. Different final drive ratio.

Try swapping out your trans fluid first before u decide to replace the trans. I had an issue with my 06 civic where it kept grinding and popping out pf 3td gear, switched to amsoil synchromesh and it never did it again. I wouldn't use that same stuff on a balt but fresh fluid could help.
