From my understanding even the stage 2 zzp trans which i have already broken is only good for around 400ish. But according to zzp it broke because no oil was in the trans. BYT says he put oil in so not sure what to say there. The trans itself is just not ment to hold serious power and you risk breaking it at anything over the 400 mark.

I have decided to do a 6speed conversion from zzp instead and should have the car back shortly. So yeah no sure what to say about the news i got from zzp today on the trans.

and I'm building a 88mm turbo lm7 trans am, could care less what I can do with the balt anymore. I put enough of my time and money into doing some crazy **** with the cars for what? people to still be slow as hell. People are willing to put tons of money into these cars to make em slammed to the ground, drive like ****, and look like *******, but no one will pony up any money for anything to really be made to advance the performance. Honestly, I'm done wasting my time trying to do anything to advance these cars. Hell 99% on here still aren't anywhere near the power I was making back in 06, even with the tvs crap they run now ( I made 296whp on my m62 most can't even break that on the tvs).

Honestly unless your willing to spend a ton of cash thats not going to happen.

I think my new 6 speed was around 4.3k and i am not even sure that will hold my 500.

Time will tell.

depends on how you hook up. I was running 450-550whp (depending on motor that was in the car at the time) trans never blew, but I never could get full traction on the street anyway. INfe's car blew up 2 f35s in 3rd gear one on street tires and the other on mickeys. Mezz also blew his f35 on 28psi somewhere in the mid 400 range whp/wtq and blew his on a 3rd gear roll also. I guess it's the luck of the draw and how and when the trans loads up. but I"m not trusting them anymore, time to try something else I guess.

Couldn't you just order one from GM? Is it good enough for our application? j/w

How much is that transmission? Its a modified G6 6 speed which is a Saab F40. I can get a new one cheap.

Dont know yet but at least it should bolt to the 2.0 without an adapter of some kind

F40 doesnt fit a cobalt without a ton of work. color that not really feasible. I tried this years ago, when zzp sold one to a customer .....it did not install and the list to try to make it work was long. kinda as much as a pita as installing an f23 in an f 35 car.

Thats what I was wondering since it was used on a V6. The trans thats in the 2012 Buick 2.0 turbo would be a better choice but then theres still axle fit etc etc to worry about. Hey John I need the 3 bolts that hold the Throwout bearing in place with that trans. My BadGot another set of 4.45s for you

I'll say it again I'm sure most people who have the cash to mod to 400+whp can afford this trans. But putting up that money in advance with zero guarantee and or unknown results is tough to do. I could easily afford this but I wouldn't spend my money on something without proven results. The only thing proven about this set up is Sheps name. Turns out its not proven on our platform so take that how you like. I hope it works out sure but will it who knows?

do you think anyone in their right mind would spend the money to r&d something out of their market, I'm sure he has enough business with all his dsm stuff to carry him over for a lifetime, cobalt's, well I know I wouldn't spend another dime to make something for this car without others chipping in for r&d.
