do you think anyone in their right mind would spend the money to r&d something out of their market, I'm sure he has enough business with all his dsm stuff to carry him over for a lifetime, cobalt's, well I know I wouldn't spend another dime to make something for this car without others chipping in for r&d.
Risk for reward. Happens all the time. Like I said I hope it works out. He's the one who stands to make the money off this. He knows there IS interest. But he has no proven results on this platform. Im sure many more would purchase if he had something to prove it was worth the money. I myself am not opposed to advancing the platform and would even likely buy one when or if I got big turbo but I defiantly wouldn't spend the money without results. I'm sure more than a few people feel the same. That's why after this long we have only 6 people. I don't remember a ZZP thread asking for money up front for ZFR housings. They knew there was a market for a bolt on upgrade and went for it...same with BNR and Hahn. I hope it works out I really do I just think the reality is proven results make sales. I'd hate for you guys to drop this money and it doesn't even live up to expectations. But it's not my money in the end so how you spend it isn't my business.

no joke. paying upfront and waiting, there is a history here of group buys gone long and wrong.
hard to make an f35 better. 4.45 makes it better, but not because of magik builds.
reinforcing the bellhousing is trick, but when the shafts come through, the extra gussets just slow down the intrusion...
even non lsd trans fail bad.
imagine. one wheel spinning repeatedly fails the star gears?
whodathunkit?
good luck with this project. cr gears help, they been made /not seeing a stampede to buy at 2k each ratio set.
no joke.

All the evo guys blamed their 4th gear problems on the cases a while back and John proved that wrong as well. This thread is pointless anymore it just frustrates me more than anything. Which is why I'm trying one more thing before I either sell the car or detune it and dd it again.

I don't understand why you would say reinforcing the bell housing is the trick, but then say it's not even worth it. And again I am baffled at how everyone thinks they know better than Shep himself. As soon as he got my trans apart he told me what the problem was just by looking at it. I also don't understand most of what you said, your wording is confusing sometimes.

close ratio gears 3/4/5/ exist. it cost 18,000 for Emco to tool. they run about 2 k per set. sign up if you want, contact me. I wont hold my breath. Heck I wouldnt put them in my car at that price. My transmission holds up just fine. But then I dont make big torque numbers, that must be it.

Alright, I'm a bit confused, so I'm just going to throw out what's on my mind here:
-How many ZZP 4.45s have failed so far, and what failed on them? What setup were they running?
-Is Powell doing/offering any solutions for the stock F35s or additions/alternatives to the 4.45s?
If the ones that failed were at power levels beyond my goal, then I/others could possibly still consider ourselves covered by the added security that the 4.45 offers. If common failure modes become apparent, then that would be notable, and possibly avoidable (i.e. side stepping a 6262 with slicks).

Sounds like there's no options for beefing up our trannies.. are there any other solutions out there yet? Is Mongorat's **** going to stand up to 500whp? I just wonder since I'm going big too.. I have no tranny solution yet, but intend to have something (if there is anything) by next spring. If you needed just one more to get Shep to make these gears, then count me in.. providing that they'll actually work! We all Need SOMEthing to keep us from breaking with the higher #'s....
