I have to call BS on this. I just do not belive you, maybe it is because I think you are to dumb to afford to modifications to do this. If you were intelligent enough to have a job making enough money to do this then you would know how to use ******* punctuation. Sorry, but trying to read what you wrote just pissed me off. Take some time and use your periods and commas, and quit being retarded please. I really hate stupid people.

just saw this and i just had to comment. My dealer replaced two transmissions in a month. first one no big deal. Second one i get a call we need 3400 to fix ur car. I called gm and it got fixed but gm rep said NO MORE. When i got it back from the first time the clutch felt very soft and my shifts were very hard. so w.e idk i finally got sick of my car breaking its on autotrader.com. Oh and i have poly mounts and dont get wheel hop. when i open it up it starts from a roll. sigh im gonna miss this car the body style is like nothing else but if it breaks again its going to break the bank. ftl

I am in the middle of the same ordeal. I had my car towed in to hubler chevy in Indiana on december 22 to have a tranny put in, got it back 19 days later. Then 50 miles later the tranny went out again they are claiming abuse and I am fighting with the GM rep right now.

Looks like the same spot mine cracked. GM not fixing transmissions due to "abuse" is pretty ridiculous, i wish that they'd realize their own manufacturing faults and treat customers with respect and dignity. I got screwed because they claimed that i raced mine and broke it because i had a spec stage 3+ clutch. I told them their stock clutch was known for being weak and failing prematurely and I just got a GM stage 2 and didn't want to burn my clutch up, but it didn't help the cause. Good luck on your broken trans endeavors, I wish i had better luck on mine.

Plain & Simple is they have to prove your where beating on it & that they can't do because they don't have you on video or what ever & the Car is warranty under stage 2. Your's is not to prove right>> They have to Prove you wrong & in a court of law they will lose! Theory's or Hear say is all Bull ****!

Its pretty simple to prove, he who we assume drove it hard has a cracked tranny. Now I haven't driven my car that hard and i still have my tranny in perfect working order...

But I would advize you to try another dealer before giving up...

Thats the problem with FWD and horse power. I only beat on my car once racing a 5.7 GTO.... I did a 20MPH roll in first gear, I granny shifted to 2nd and had wheel hop the whole way through 2nd. Third I had finally gained traction. I dunno how normal that is with stage2, but after that I sold my car. Wrong platform for what I want to do.

sorry but your under a misconception.

if your getting wheelhop, thats YOUR fault. not GMs
you are NOT allowed to "just go have fun" and expect your GM warranty to cover you no matter how you drive.
even stock.

That about sums it up. Warranties aren't for sponsoring amateur street racing careers.

what about syncros? Do you think that's related to driver error?? Im confused, ive experienced wheel hop once in my 04 redline...having the 2.5 pulley on there pretty much breaks the tires loose w/ease....but now its grinds into second gear. Too much torque or wat?? Im a pretty good driver also....

no, synchro's are kind of like a donut with a complete bite out of it, when they spin at their rpms, they'll catch on the rod before you shift, stopping the gear and allowing it to sink in. the higher RPM shifts you make(or in my case **** up) the more of a chance you have of damaging them.

As for the wheelhop issue... yes wheelhop is something you can control being the driver, and I've heard it can snap the axle as well too, however, I don't understand why a GM product cannot stand up to the issues that arise from its own design????? I'm a mechanical engineer, in my head this is a design concept you must apply to anything you create and build. A solid platform would have all those issues eliminated in the original design stages. more solid mounts would have been a cheap $100 increase fix at the most....but gm chose the POShits that are in there now, and maybe a GM designed torque damper.....maybe get GM into the tuner market a little more.....

I've heard that a wheel hop kit has been in the makings, but its taking forever to come out due to stupid internal hierarchies or what not. It is too bad that there wasn't a recall with a mandatory fix, but the wheel hop kit supposedly includes new axles and mounts. I guess its kinda like their stronger aftermarket knuckles they released for autocross guys. Axles are what i've been told that have the crappy "wind-up" and what mainly cause excessive bounce and you'd think they would have thought of testing it to the extreme before release.

I'm a graduated engineer and i also think its pretty ridiculous making excuses of abuse for a poorly tested component. What they need to realize is that most of the general public is retarded and drive their cars retarded. Are they gonna blame a guy for abusing his car if he is just starting to learn how do drive a stick and is hopping and jerking gears? Its like blaming a retard for doing retarded things. Cars get abused but they're supposed to be made to withstand them throughout the warranty period.

I already took it for the poorly designed components, being a natural born retard myself, i hopped and snapped an axle as well as cracked the trans. I'll just be glad to by their kit as long as i know its been tested and designed to reduce the crappy springy effects of my current drivetrain setup.

agreed, its like saying, "i blew the engine cause i put my foot to the floor in neutral and kept it there till it blew.... but GM didnt put anything in the car to stop it.... so they should cover it right?"

little more common sense people.

bad example, but you get what i mean.

Well you should be able to use the transmission as intended and put full HP on it and not break. that would be having fun. but to say I shifted the transmission with out the clutch and GM is claiming abuse would make sense as does putting your foot to the floor and blowing a motor.

but whether you know how to drive or a novice. 99% on here are NOVICE. do any of you race your car in a sanctioned event that has expert class racers? LOL .... no. my point made here.

either way the car should not break. I have 46K on my car and I dont drive like an ass, I have had many car prior including one that I drove on same tranny and clutch to 200K. My cobalt just through a transmission. I took it in cause it was popping out of second gear every now and again. after looking at it for external problem and then taking the tranny out, GM is now considering just replacement. now The cases are not cracked to my knowledge so who knows. Hopefully I get new.
