God awful clutch squeak.
My clutch has been making this noise for awhile now. It does it when the car is running and when it is not. It does it after driving it all day and when it is bone cold. I tried greasing the little piston going into the firewall, and that worked like a charm for exactly half a day, then it went right back to squeaking. It now appears to be immune to grease.
Help, this is extremely annoying.
Here's a video so you can hear what I'm talking about.

try clutch pedal plastic clip where it seats on the m/cly push rod and clips into the m/cyl. Hint, plastic clip only comes with new master. Or and this is a case of "I sure hope not" the clutch cylinder has pushed through the firewall plate and is cocked . But release point would be poor or not at all...

Hi IROCZ0r,
I’m sorry to hear of this concern with the clutch in your Cobalt. I will be glad to look further into this squeaking noise that you are experiencing. Please send a private message with your VIN, current mileage, full contact information, and dealership name if I can be of any assistance. Thank you.

Maybe you could spray that clip Powell is talking about? I believe he's talking about the one right behind the clutch pedal.

Mine did that for a long time. It made me think that my shoes were wet and squeaking on the pedal. I tried greasing it like you did, but it never really helped. I gave up on it, and it went away after about 100,000 miles.
