Here we go again TOB went
John Powell explained how to check a new TOB to see if its good or bad from the factory. I know they make bad ones because some vendors will not sell them anymore.
Sorry to hear about your son, Jeff. On topic, I have had issues with my TOB. I never knew the success/fail rate of these before. It's good to know. If I ever take mine back apart again, I'll just throw a stock LSJ one in there.
LNF TOB is way better than an LSJ. The TOB will fail right away, wont even bleed if its defective. In my opinion, I believe that most of the failures with time are because of a reinforced to changed pressure plate height causing the TOB to overextend, or the clutch rod being to long. Or just beating on the car perhaps. If the carpet gets worn it is possible to overstroke the TOB. This is the clutch stop we put in our race car builds
From my understanding they stopped selling them because people weren't installing them right and then blaming ZZP. That and people would have clutch issues, toss a ZZP adjustable clutch rod on there then over extend and explode the TOB.
