Heres an idea for GM

I think they should make a 6 speed as an upgrade....i mean the new saab 9-3's (both 4 and 6 cylinder versions) are f/i and front wheel drive and we use the same exact tranny and shifters. What do you all think?

I agree but having to shift into another gea can hurt your 1/4th. However I must say I would love to have the sixth gear to hit on the highway.

Damn, said the same thing to my Servcie Manager the other day when we were talking some owner feedback. 6th gear would be a God send on my 80 mile round trip every day.

The saab 6 speed will work but good luck finding one and if you do I hope you have deep pockets. I was able to get one from a buddy of mine who is a salvage broker but it took a long time to locate.

i would vote to keep all the gears the same as they are right now, and then just stick on a sixth gear for some crazy good gas mileage on the high way.

thats what qualife has done. dont know about pricing. new mainshaft and counter shaft with a 6th gear.. and you retain the lsd.. the f40 doesnt have an lsd.

crazy, i was just asked this question by a car tech who was rotating my tires. A 6th gear would be nice, but i rather they make 1st gear ratio more longer than add another gear.

no it retain's all of the factory gear ratio's 1 through 5. it jus add's a 6th. and its from qualife. so you know its strong.. there's talk about an f40 swap but they dont have an lsd and are very pricey..
