Leaking transmission from axle seal

I noticed about 7k miles ago that something appeared to be leaking fluid very slowly all over the transmission (Last time I changed my oil). I had my car up again today to change the engine oil, and I noticed that the leaking seemed to be coming from the axle seal on the passenger side of the diff. I drive a 2006 SS/SC.

Has anyone else experienced this happening to their car? Will I need to pull the trans out to replace the seal? Will this be covered under the powertrain warranty?

My money says overfull, I finally found the breather, look just left of the reverse switch, it looks like a index hole unless you shine a good light at it...

Thanks qwikredline

I've never added any fluid to it, so I don't know how it could be overfull. It definitely has some fluid pooling at the bottom of the axle input, so I'm fairly sure it is that seal leaking.

I'll try to check this out after I get home from work though. Car is being left up on the lift all day.

Sorry to necro the thread, but I've noticed the same thing on my 07, I bought the car with 1400kms and put about 800km since, but it's leaking fairly badly. I have a guy willing to replace it for me, but do I need to hit my dealership for it, or is it a universal/common piece?

Edit: I changed the tranny fluid following the How To using Royal Purple Max Gear and I got maybe a third of a quart out Still leaking from around the bottom of the seal and the bolt below by the looks of it.
