lsd install ?s
i am wondering if there are any aftermarket lsd kits for a 07 ss/sc ?my car didnt come with it from the factory. how hard would it be to install? would it be easyer to jsut find a tranny with one? would GM sell just the lsd?
x2 find a tranny with one already installed. Easier AND cheaper.
And FWIW, GM doesn't sell the LSD, it's a Quiafe unit and it goes for ~$1000 now a days I believe.

It doesn't help with torque steer at all........and it won't help much at the drag strip since it's possible to spin both front tires in a non-LSD car IF you're on level pavement and going straight. If that's all you want it for, you're wasting your money.
Wouldn't help with that. All an LSD does is balances the difference in spinning between the outside and inside wheels during a turn.
how would it not help with torque steer it would stop the tires fighting with eachother why do you think they would put it in from factory cars and it would help at the drag cause both tires would have traction why do you think dragsters have locked diffs so both tires have traction not just one

2) If you're not getting traction to both wheels at the strip, you need driver mod, not LSD. When taking off *in a straight line* both tires have an equal chance at getting traction. It's definitely possible to lay down two strips of rubber without the aid of an LSD. The LSD helps when turning, not so much in a straight line. It is NOT the same thing as a locking differential. You're not going to see enough benefit from an LSD to justify the cost and labor of buying and installing it.
lsd does not help with turning it will become disconected around a corner it will help when you come out of a corner thats it i have had lsd in many vehicles mostly jeeps and it make a world of difference
It's your money, do what you want with it.
Bottom line: Tranny. You're probably looking at upwards of $3k or more in parts and labor to have the diff installed.
Tranny you can probably get from a junkyard for < $1000 and install it yourself if you have the tools.
