? for ppl w/ SPEC 2+ & 3+

im am working on building a 340whp LSJ. I want to hear from ppl with the SPEC 2+ & 3+ clutches and how they are holding up. I also want to know how much torque or horsepower you are pushing with whatever clutch you have. thanks

my spec didnt last long for me. my exedy is still running great

I will leave this for others however I will say you are on the right track. Get the "+" series only, the ones that have issues seem to have the NON "+" series, where as the ones that like the SPEC setup have the "+" series.

I have installed a few 2+ clutches in some 270ish horse LSJs and one in a 300+hp LNF. None of them ever came back or bitched to me about it.

The Exedy Hyper Single is pretty badass as well, I did the Exedy test fitting for the LNF, it worked flawlessly and held up to a solidly 300+hp car with zero issues, I have nothing but good things to say about it, the Spec has a closer to stock pedal feel and is cheaper, but doesnt come with a flywheel or the higher quality pressure plate cover. You upgrade those items on the SPEC and the price is about the same as the Hyper.

I would question which actual model he got. If it is the non "+" series I can see a concern. "+" series have had great results.

We don't drive 240's

I've never heard anything but good about Spec.

Each clutch is different, I am sure exedy or ACT has a few models/applcations also that are not the best.

If you get the "+" series you should be very happy.

I agree slowswap and disagree with my good buddy with the hottest gf of all LS1fbody....so I guess I disagree with him respectfully I would hate for him to stop posting piktars of his gf

I've been running the 2+ for about a year now. I DD it everyday. No problems whatsoever. I can def recommend it.
I have teh TVS w/ 2.9, Full 3" catless exhaust, meth, all other supporting ****.
11.6ish A/F 23* timing. I'm prob close to the 340hp mark i guess...

2+ is good, but for a few bucks more you may want to consider the 3+ incase you end up with a bit more power, you will know you are safe. Really depends on your goals and if funds are available for next step up.

i bought the stage 2+ from TTR. what i dont understand is that SPEC rates this clutch for 440 torque! i havent heard of anybody having problems w/ the stage 2+ but whats everybody worried about...or does SPEC overate their clutches?
