? for ppl w/ SPEC 2+ & 3+

im am working on building a 340whp LSJ. I want to hear from ppl with the SPEC 2+ & 3+ clutches and how they are holding up. I also want to know how much torque or horsepower you are pushing with whatever clutch you have. thanks

I will leave this for others however I will say you are on the right track. Get the "+" series only, the ones that have issues seem to have the NON "+" series, where as the ones that like the SPEC setup have the "+" series.

I have installed a few 2+ clutches in some 270ish horse LSJs and one in a 300+hp LNF. None of them ever came back or bitched to me about it.

The Exedy Hyper Single is pretty badass as well, I did the Exedy test fitting for the LNF, it worked flawlessly and held up to a solidly 300+hp car with zero issues, I have nothing but good things to say about it, the Spec has a closer to stock pedal feel and is cheaper, but doesnt come with a flywheel or the higher quality pressure plate cover. You upgrade those items on the SPEC and the price is about the same as the Hyper.

I would question which actual model he got. If it is the non "+" series I can see a concern. "+" series have had great results.

Spec has a terrible reputation in the 240 community. I'd stay away from them.

Exedy or ACT is where it's at.

Each clutch is different, I am sure exedy or ACT has a few models/applcations also that are not the best.

If you get the "+" series you should be very happy.

I've been running the 2+ for about a year now. I DD it everyday. No problems whatsoever. I can def recommend it.
I have teh TVS w/ 2.9, Full 3" catless exhaust, meth, all other supporting ****.
11.6ish A/F 23* timing. I'm prob close to the 340hp mark i guess...
Hope that helps -Dan

2+ is good, but for a few bucks more you may want to consider the 3+ incase you end up with a bit more power, you will know you are safe. Really depends on your goals and if funds are available for next step up.
