No is right unless you are handy, real handy.
My transmission was already out of the car and it took a GM tech 7 hours to install the LSD. It still needed to go back into the car.

this is a nice setup, if the price is 4g's thats not bad considering not only u get a much stronger tranny, but a better performance oriented tranny. a tranny that will be able to handle more power then a majority of the ss s/c owners will ever put down. and will be able to take the abuse of your driver that beats the **** out of it ever single day at every stop at every turn. honestly guys if you complain about spending 4g's then stop modding there are camaro and vette guys that spend nearly 4 g's on just an exhaust setup alone. and supercharger and turbo kits for them are upwards of 10+g's so either caugh up money and spend it to mod it or dont complain about prices.

4gs for jsut the gears, your looking at another grand of so to have them installed. Camaro exhasut cost 4grand? headers, at most 1200, a catted y pipe 500 and a expensive catback, maybe 1000. that is still well short of your 4k. Vettes exhasut don't cost 4k either. There is modding a car and then there is burning a pile of 100 dollar bills and pissing on it for entertainment. This is a waste of money.

I was just thinking and working some numbers in my head, and I wondered what would happen if you combined the 6-speed conversion with a 3.76 final drive ratio. Was a total holy hell moment. All speeds below are in mph@1k rpm

Stock to M6/3.76 combo (~ change) [speed@7k rpm]

1st: 5.58mph to 7.45mph (+33%) [52.15mph]
2nd: 10.54mph to 10.72mph (+1.7%) [75.04mph]
3rd: 15.99mph to 14.82mph (-7.9%) [103.74mph]
4th: 21.19mph to 19.39mph (-9.3%) [135.73mph]
5th: 26.95mph to 24.33mph (-10.7%) [170.31mph]
6th: N/A to 28.79mph (N/A) [201.53mph]

This would net you a lot longer first gear, making it much easier to put the power to the ground and let you actually get something out of it from a dig. Will take a little more skill to take off lightly though.

Second would have a minimal change, just a touch longer. But won't hurt anything and is actually good for Stage 2 or higher powered cars.

Don't really like the shorter third gear, but since fourth (and fifth, thou less important) has also dropped and is now more usable I can live with it.

Finally, you have sixth which is a deeper overdrive gear. Your rpms while cruising in your dop gear will only be 93.6% of what they are now. That would mean that at 80mph, you would drop from ~3k to ~2.8k rpms. Yea yea, I know those are both rounded up, but close enough.

*Conclusion*
So though I still think the price is totally insane, if the 6 speed conversion were combined with a change to a 3.76 final drive it would provide several good things. A long 1st gear, 2nd roughly the same, a tighter 3rd~5th spread, and a longer final gear.

so what do we benfit from this exactly is it just more torque in low gears then more pull in thehigher gears or what, and will this work with a stock front lsd? Thanks
