the f23 is a strong tranny, ive seen them reliably behind 550hp, and many more cases behind 400hp. that being said, the f35 has been proven over 400hp without failure. its all in how the car is driven.

There is at least one 500+hp F35 car on this site. quite a few 400+hp ones too.

that and iirc there was no LSD for it from the factory like the f35.

Excuse me I have to add this is a really uneducated answer. FOR 3 CLEAR REASONS...

A) The Corvette is Skin Close Ratio Aspect in regards to T-56, which has two variants, both are "close ratio". The .85 is more powerful, the other is the "economic/topspeed" concept.
B) Enless your RPM's go way up or are so low that the car cannot maintain a cruise the fuel economy cannot take a hit.
C) The Close Ratio 6spd, is designed not for "racing" but for the sole purpose of keeping the car capable enough to remove the 5th overdriven type gear (which if anyone pays attention our 5th is not that overdriven) to install 2 shorter gears with a slightly improved top gear (6th) for more TOP SPEED. TOP SPEED = 141mph+ Try it at a track, without a 1.7mile straight I would promise you would be dissapointed if your looking for power.

And where is a bulletproof transmission that'd be more useful, stock ratio's are not that bad.

Don't believe me, call Tremec, or Mercedes who has one of the world's 7+ gearboxes and ask them why they'd do it if it was about the "powerband". If your gear ratio is .65 against 100-250hp your pretty much running 40-70hp to the wheels if your lucky. POWERBAND NUMBERS? Or enhanced engine RPM management for top speed? Because frankly without 400hp I don't see 6th being worth a whole lot of power enless you pulled it after 5th near redline. Seen a 140mph stretch recently? Ganna need one to do that... Just sayin

Stock Z06's break 160 mph on the back straight at Miller... LOL

+1 to if it were a little cheaper and had a taller 6th for cruising I'd buy it.

Looking into combining parts from other trannies or getting custom gears made in the meantime. This thig would be almost reasonable if it were a full tranny with LSD for that, but just gears and requires install?! No thanks...

Well this looks like it might be worth looking at a lil more. With the Quaife 6speed gear swap and the zzp stage 2 trans with a 4.45 final drive, this would really be a nicely geared transaxle for road racing or time attack without killing the fuel mileage on the street. It may be a bit pricey, but like the man said, "how fast do you wanna go and how much money do you wanna spend?"
