Shift cables *help*

So about two weeks ago I lost my gears In my 2007 Cobalt ss/SC. Found out was the shifter cables. So I went and bought new cables new brackets new cable clamps and an ottp short shifter. Installed them drove it for bout 45 min worked like a dream could not been more impressed... Well I stopped at store went to leave had no reverse. Finally got it in reverse had 1st gear 3rd n 5th. Then they all went. Looks like the rite cable was got stretched (black one) so I guess what I'm asking is what the hell is wrong brand new. Is it an adjustment thing or what. Fyi new to the Cobalt so take it easy on me lol

If you have 1, 3, and 5 I'd bet a roll pin has sheered over a stretched cable.

Thank you... Now I know the roll pins are not strong at all.. any suggestions what to use ? I was thinking maybe a threaded steel rod with nuts on the ends?

You want them to sheer, they're cheaper than cables or a transmission. They last a long time if you don't force gears
