No... GM will do an investigation. Your tranny might be covered. Mine was from shifting into 2nd gear too hard.

completely agree.

my clutch has slipped once. and it was because of my error. and i knew it.

its sad that people who truely do need a clutch/trans warranty claim have to fight it because of how many sideways hat wearing street racahs are working on their 3rd tranny and 4th clutch under GM warranty.

you know thats illegal right? for them to void the warranty for a exhaust...especialy from the axle breaking.

I tried that fight... didn't work... so whatever I had a lot more parts on the car I pulled off so I wasn't really fighting about it since my warranty was already technically voided.. I was just trying to get a quick set of axles instead of waiting for the DDS ones...
I wasn't really that pissed, plus they refunded my extended warranty without a fight.

yeah I think I still have the rest of my 36000 mile warranty minus the powertrain and drivetrain... but I do know GM red flagged my car... so trading it in would not have worked, so I"m going ***** out with it instead and going turbo with a built motor shortly... F WARRANTY....

also it helps that I work parttime as a mechanic and can fix this stuff myself... I also fix every one elses car around me that gets refused warranty work... and it's been quite a few.

They tore apart the tranny today, but it wont get diagnosed until tommorow, but they did say it SHOULD be covered under warranty so I will keep my fingers crossed and see how that goes! I will update on further progress..

The service advisor told me today that they are going to replace my whole tranny w/ a new one, but they wouldnt tell me the reason why! So I asked if he could somehow put the LSD tranny in there and he said he would try but it usually has to be a direct replacement! I will be getting a call later on today to see when I will be getting it back!

Edit: The new transmission is being ordered/overnighted from Michigan, so that puts the tranny being here tommorow and me possibly getting my car back tommorow! This is awesome..

Hmmm, I am having the same issue with my ride, GM said it'll 7-10 days ebfore they can source me a brand spanken new tranny, I just couldn't shift it into any of the gears or anything. The tech said it was fixed but it wasn't, so when he went on a test drive the whole tranny dropped, and they were al;l dumbfounded. Also they didn't give me any hastles about it either, also the clutch and fly wheel are in good shape and has no signs of abuse, and I can drive fairly hard at times. But they are sending the old tranny to GM's R&D dept. and they will let me know what let go. So I'll keep everyone posted.

They ordered me a new tranny and installed it and it was defective. The broken tranny they ordered took 2 days to get here(overnighted) and they ordered another one 2 days ago and it will be here tommorow and then it should be installed and everything is priority since they messed it up the first time. Il update when I get it back

Got my car back yesterday! The problem w/ the reverse not working on the new tranny was b/c of my shifter. So I told them I was going out of town today so they would hurry the process up and instead of ordering a new shifter they took one out of a brand new Cobalt SS/SC on the lot! Overall I am very impressed w/ the service at Gordon Chevrolet and damn im glad I got my car back! : )
