third gear broke again

Just took this trans apart. Both gears were stripped clean and pieces got in the pinion and blew out through the case in the front . I traded him my 4.05 LSD for cash plus his old trans so I have a LSD with 2500 miles on it and a few other usable parts that look brand new and about $50 worth of scrap. Thats the most damage I have seen yet. Must be doing BANZAI shifts.
Been driving manual since I was 16, never went through any trans or clutch issues, but my HHR's third gear said goodbye this past Sunday .
I already have the 4.05 being an HHR, and G85. Coasted two miles so I could pull off into a lot, trans was making a noise @ idle. Wasn't an ideal Sunday, to top it off my woman's Ford Escape got me home. Never will hear the end of that

ZZP not having this 4.45 ready to go puts me at a disadvantage as well.
