Tranny swap

Anyone know if a GM 6speed manual(like out of a new Buick Regal GS) would fit my 2009 cobalt tc with little to no modification? The Buick is front drive and high torque built. Only concern would be clearance issues and computer problems. Please help!

Thanks! I am thinking the extra gear will give me a little closer gearing and shorter too. As well as helping a tad on fuel efficiency.

To answer the other part of your question OP, there are modifications that have to be made (that will be included in ZZP's conversion kit).

Here's a link to one of the threads of a ZZP customer that had the F40 conversion done. It discusses what it's like and what needs to be changed to make it work.

Really? I mean I don't drive it trying to get great mileage but driving 75-80 on long trips I have been getting like 28mpg tops. Not bad, but could be better. Also, 1st is too short a gear on this five speed and some of the gears could be closer in ratio in my opinion. Thanks for your replies everyone!I will have to start saving....maybe if I believe in Santa hard enough then he'll come.
