Where can I get a 25921572 intermediate shaft assembly or just the shaft for MU3 LSJ?

My intermediate shaft bearing blew out today. I pulled the PS axle along with the intermediate shaft and there is no way I am getting them apart. They are basically fused. I guess that's to be expected with 270k+ miles... What's left of the bearing is also fused into the bracket.

So I need an axle, intermediate shaft, intermediate shaft bearing bracket, retainer ring, clips(most likely), and also a new wheel hub assembly. I can find just about everything I need except the shaft.

I haven't been able to find one on the web. Does anyone have a suggestion?

CED had what I needed, but it's discontinued on their site.

Does the SAAB 9186588 shaft work?

I need to get my car fixed because my wife's POS Chrysler minivan transmission went with 70k miles a couple weeks after warranty expired.

I just looked at rockauto, and gm parts direct and nothing. Have you checked places like NAPA?

I'm afraid your only other option if you can't fine new is to look for used parts from the junkyard. I've gotten a lot of good parts for my supercharge build i'm doing for my g5. Try these guys here for good used parts.

spline count is different iirc

OP email Tom at CED and he might be able to steer you in the right direction.

Spline count is different at the CV axles/hub interface, but they are the same inboard

I found a spare from someone on FB.

If it is for a TC can I just swap in an axle from a TC?

Edit: Never mind I just re-read what you wrote....didn't register the first time...haha. Also searched the forum about the axle differences.
LSJ and LNF axles are the same inboard at the transmission and intermediate shaft. They differ in shaft thickness and spline count at the wheel hub

NAPA has really good LSJ axles and they're quite cheap. Bonus discount on them if you have AAA (you really should; the towing makes it so worth it).

A lot of vendors repackage the NAPA axles as "Stage 1" axles.

EDIT: before you assemble, coat the splines on the axle to intermediate shaft with anti-seize. The intermediate shaft doesn't actually seal to the axle, so what happens is water gets in there and it rusts... that's why the axles always seem so gotdamn hard to separate from the intermediate shaft.

Solid tip, I had never thought of that. I'll be doing that when I have the sub frame dropped for clutch and engine work next monthish

Napa also had good LNF axles from what I had heard, but they seem to be out of stock on them. I also heard that they are lifetime warranty on them... so if you break one you can swap it for a new one.....

I ended up pulling the axle that I got off amazon and replacing it with a Napa axle. The amazon one I think it was Cardone and gave me a vibration under acceleration. The Napa axle works perfectly fine.

Here's some part numbers for future reference.

axle shaft bracket 12788651 $116 gmpartsdirect
axle shaft 25921572 discontinued
axle shaft bearing 12785906 $62 gmpartsdirect
axle shaft retainer ring 12789486 $15 gmpartsdirect

Hey everyone. Im in the same boat looking for an intermediate drive shaft for an 05 RL. When to replace the axles the other day and the right side seems fused with the shaft and im not sure how else to try and get them apart. Did anyone ever find how to locate a new one?

Did you ever locate a new intermediate driveshaft? I'm in the same boat and can't find them anywhere.
