New Official Dyno Thread (2012)
Does anyone know of a dynojet dyno in the detroit area. I dynod on zzp's mustang and put down 339hp and 401tq. I want to see how much difference there is between the two. I then will be using the data for a project I'm working on at school. Thanks
Zzp's dyno seems to read a tad high so expect possibly lower numbers if the dynojet is calibrated correctly. Regardless, gains are what truly matter anyways. Not peak numbers. Just try to stick with the same dyno all the time so true gains can be measured.
I'm not doing to measure the gains on my car no work has been done since my last dyno there. More or less to show the differences in the two brands of dyno's.
Side note how do you know zzp's dyno reads high? I've dyno'd on two other mustang dyno's and my numbers were almost identical (just a couple hp here or there one way or another). Also hasn't it been proven time and time again that dynojets read 10-15% higher than mustangs???
Either way if I can find a place that has one ill go and post up the results. O and I never listed my mods fully bolted with cams and full e 23psi.

Hey now. I wasn't trying to discount or down play your numbers by any means, so I'm sorry if it came across that way, but now knowing your mods now does actually help quite a bit and make more sense.. lol
340whp is definitely not a bloated number for the supporting mods/fuel you're running. In the past though, ZZP's dyno has always been sort of "accepted" as a bit of a high reading dyno with some of the numbers they have come up with on that thing. Now do I have any personal experience with the dyno? No. Am I in the least bit trying to take away from anything that they do or have done for the community? Absolutely not. I'm just going purely off of what I have seen come off of that dyno and combining my own personal thoughts along with others that sort of feel the same about it. Long and short of it, don't take it to heart if I or someone else says their numbers tend to seem a little on the high side.
As far as mustang dyno's reading low though, it's sort of a crap shoot. I've ran on a mustang dyno that read all sort of crazy low (just about made me cry.. lol), and I've ran on a mustang dyno that read higher than even a dynapac. It really all depends on the operator and what he decides to enter in for all the settings. I'd definitely be curious to see what you put down on another dyno though.

Lol I hate how typing makes me sound all pissed off I knew you didn't mean anything by it. The one thing Ik true after working at ZZP is when they dyno Matt's car it makes what they say it does but it's not all that meets the eye. Like the zfr pull that made 540whp I guarantee there was more done to the car than everyone else's. for example with a 2.1L some sort of crazy prototype cam and 35psi full e fifth injector 540 doesn't seem out of reach but when guys dyno and only make 440 and are pissed because ZZP made more well did you really think they're gonna tell you everything they have done or are working on? Not to mention they test things to there failure point maybe the highest dyno's are ones that are used to test the breaking point. Then when they sell it they make it safe and reliable? Idk call me a snappy or whatever you will but after being there watching 50+ dyno's and helping with the setup on them Ik that Matt M does make sure everything is perfectly calibrated dyno wise before each run. Sorry for the rant lol

I made more than that and daily on 440whp. It seems to hit or miss with our transmissions. Mine is holding up fine.
hoping for 600whp on my s256et on e85
