Ater market decks and airbag sensors?
Ok, so I'm bringing my avic f7000bt back as it has a huge amount of issues. I picked up an avic d3 as I know they work well, have the features i want etc etc. When we were at best buy the guy made a comment to me about the control box thing for the chimes and the turn off delay and stuff that they try and sell you when installing an aftermarket deck in our cars. The comment that I find disturbing and want to know if you guys have heard of this is he said that without this box it shuts off the airbag sensor.... anyone heard of this? All my door chimes and stuff work as of present and I thought without said device they shouldn't... all wires are hooked up to the current deck and nothing left out so why would the airbags be effected? unless there's something in the stock HU which to me doesn't make sense.... thoughts?

It's a lie. GM wouldn't be able to sell cars if they produced a car that they know somebody will want to upgrade the radio in and be killed due to faulty airbags.
The airbag sensor is a completly different relay and sensor system and the radio has no affect on that what so ever.
