Audio Advice Please!
All W7 subs are 3 ohms... and most high end JL amps produce the same power from 1.5 - 4 ohms (including the HD900/5's sub channel).
The voltage was fluctuating on the sub channel. I'd turn it on with a 50hz test tone and it'd be 32.46 one time, then turn it off and back on, and it'd be 37.21, and then 7.22... and so on. That was one problem. The low pass crossover was also acting screwy. No big deal though, the guys at Crutchfield took care of me, and a new amp should be here tomorrow.
Strange enough, the amp would also occasionally not even turn on the sub channel, or sometimes the whole amp wouldn't turn on (until I turned the remote signal off and back on).
This amp had all kinds of problems, but it was a refurb... guess you get what you pay for. I'll still gladly take a refurb for $525 over a new one for $999.

lol no **** the only amp to ever make my lights dim was a JL 1000/1
only reason i asked about the impedance was i wasnt sure if it was a dual 3 wired to 6. im not a w7 fan so i dont pay much attention to what they offer
