Battery or Alternator going??

I have two 12" JL audio subs and a pioneer 700w amp. Only other things that draw power while i'm driving is a little red LED strip under my radio. other than that, i dont keep my underbody LED's on while driving. although, when i turn my radio on, even with it turned down, my lights flash and dim and **** every time my bass hits. keep in mind, my amp is not turned up but like 1/4 of the way. would this be a sign of an alternator going or do i need a high performance battery? capacitor maybe? thanks guys.

Doesnt matter how much your amp is turned up. Get a capacitor, 1+ farad and Optima battery.

the big three is much bigger better wire from-
1. negative from ur bat to ground
2.Alt to battery
3. block to ground.

tht alone will prob cut ur dimming in half.

as far as other things like caps and batteries u have a few options depending on ur budget.

If you do the big 3 and get a decent cap u should be fine but i highly recommended replacing the stock battery with something more reliable.

guage2 for my whole car but tht might have been overkill.
(it also may not have becuase i used wire by "scosh" and i dont think thts the best quality.)

its not that much work, once u finish u will laugh becuase its really not that bad.

also, if ur going to do it, do it right and u wont have to worry about it ever again.

make sure all ur main power sources are close together. ur cap can be a little bit away from ur bat but make sure the cap is right next to ur amp.
