Pioneer AVIC-D3, it has navi, I know you said you didnt care about navi. But this is the best Double Din player money can buy. You can get it on ebay for about 700.00-1000.00.

i work in mobile at the local best buy and i gotta agree. D3 is the way to go. retailss 999.99 but like blue said can be found cheaper. stay away from dual. its a screen and a **** poor one at that.

Pioneer is ok, Eclipse is a good brand but if you are looking for the best combo for the money with no nav I would go with the Panasonic CQ-VD6503U. I got mine for 400$ from Circuit City, and for a little over 100$ you can get an ipod cable and bluetooth setup for it. Under 550 for double din dvd, decent functions, ipod control and hands free setup. It looks a hell of a lot better than the D3 does with its pass through face and has a lot better features and functions than the cheaper brands do

anyway the big 3 when it comes to headunits in general are Alpine, Pioneer and Eclipse. The are pricy and well worth it. Unfort i cant find anything that fits my needs from any of them

Start looking into a brand called Valor...they make some pretty quality stuff, and have double din sized units with bluetooth and such. Been thinking about getting one myself...would be so much easier to drive and talk on the phone...

Double DIN units DO fit in the Cobalt dash... It's just a tad bit too deep. all you gotta do is cut the plastic piece in front of the metal piece and it adds enough space. If you take out your headunit and look you will see what I'm talking about... its a very very close fit but it does fit even though its listed as not fitting.

The Pioneer AVIC Z2 is probably the best, but if you want the most bang for buck, and don't use navi that much, I would say the D3.

I would look at the JVC double din (good picture and good options MP3 on DVD is awesome) or Panasonic for the best screens out there.
