Can't decide what In-Dash Nav to go with...help!!

So I'm going to get an in-dash nav setup, but having trouble trying to decide what to go with. I am pretty sure I want to stick with Pioneer as they seem to have the biggest following and most support over at avic411.com. Here are the ones I have looked at and why I can't decide.

AVIC-D1
Pros: Least expensive, 2 drives (1 for CDs/MP3s, 1 for NAV), 6.5" display
Cons: No video playback of any kind without an external video source

AVIC-D3
Pros: Middle of the road cost, has DVD/DivX playback built in
Cons: Smaller display (6.1"), Only 1 disc drive for Nav/DVD/CD/MP3 (basically would need to get an iPod or something for music since I will want the NAV to be up all the time)

AVIC-Z1
Pros: Large screen 7", hard drive for navigation (no discs needed, faster loading), DVD playback
Cons: Most expensive (in my price range)

What do you guys think, any other ones I should look at?

Anyone?

I'm going to go with the AVIC D3, hopefully in the summer. One main drawback is the single disc slot, cant play nav with another cd in. You can temporarily program the unit to remember your destination but it's a little hassle. I use an ipod for my music so it wouldn't really affect me. It's an awesome unit for the price.

I have the Avic D3 and am very happy with it. I have an IPod connected to it where I store over 1000 songs so I don't even need to use the DVD/CD slot much. I leave the Navi DVD in all the time. And I am not into playing Video DVD's in it that much. Thats what I have a DVD player and home theater for.

However, if you don't have an IPod and don't plan on using one, want to have the navigation always available and want to be able to play DVD's, I would suggest getting the Avic Z2. It has allot more advantages over the D3. Basically you have a hard drive based navigation, a hard drive that can store thousands of mp3's, and you can have a DVD in the slot. So you can switch back and forth without having to really change any disks.

A D1 for 440??? Roll out with that!!!!.. You can always get a PS2 and throw it in there for a video source lol.. Plus, im not sure, but you might not have to worry about a bypass for video while driving(NOT SAFE LOL) if you do it that way

If you dont want to go with that and you will be using the Navi quite often.. The Z1

If the Navi is a rare usage... D3

yeah its the z2, the z2 is only an upgrade for screen size and the hard drive. The software is the old versions and uses the old equipment. The d3 has all of the new interfaces and softwares for pioneer

if u dont get the video bypass done you wont be able to search for locations in the navi without stopping youir car and putting your ebrake on. so while being unsafe it is nessecary.

Yeah, that price is so good on the D1 it will be hard to pass up. I can get the newest maps for the D1 for like $15 off of eBay, so I'm not worried about that.

The D3, I would like to get but I don't have an iPod...so if I bought the D3 I would have to get some kind of iPod so play music and I don't know if I want to spend that much money.

You can still get the Z1's on eBay either new or used for a decent price. I just saw a used one on there yesterday for $750 shipped which came with the iPod and Bluetooth adapters.

I also found this little enclosure on ebay that you can put a laptop hard drive into and copy any kind of media onto and it has rca out for video and sound. So you can play any kind of video, audio or pictures through it. I could feed that into the D1 easily and it would be $30 for the enclosure and I have a few spare laptop hard drives laying around.

Still wouldn't be able to just pop a DVD in, but I can rip them and put em on the drive.
