ussually there is a interface with the Clutch switch that will deactivate it so the car will start. There is also ussually a long procedure to set up the car before you get out, so it will start when you come back.

(This is not for a Manual Car, it is for a Automatic S-10 truck. But can be set up for a Manual)

after all these years of installing manual car starters you'd think people wouldn't be so stupid. For these cars most key bypass systems take over the clutch override when remote starting after reservation mode is set. If the bypass does not any half brained installer will be able to add a relay to bypass the clutch only during remote start.

The cell starter is supposed to be quite secure from what I understand. I'm assuming it's a certain string created through some encryption string but my knowledge ends there as I've not looked that closely at them yet.

It's actually no different than exiting the vehicle normally. Just remember to have the e-brake up (which you should anyways) and don't have your foot on the brake when removing the key.

We install compustar pro models and you have to add on the computrack module so yes it is an add-on. It also has a web based feature for control of the vehicle, gps tracking, etc... Turns out I wouldn't have to pay the yearly subscription fee as a compustar pro dealer so I may look into it more when they become available to us.
