Chassis electrical won't shut off

Okay...Yesterday a friend and I were wiring up my frozenboost fans to my heat exchanger. After everything was wired, and we were testing it somehow there was a short and the wires burnt up from the power source to the switch, (YES, TOTAL FAIL). This, of course, burned some other wires in the area, but nothing was really disturbed (just some shielding melted). After making sure the car and the house didn't burn to the ground, I wanted to make sure the car still functioned properly. The car started up just fine, with no weird issues, except...When I shut the car off, the motor turns off, but everything else (lights, radio, gauges, windows, etc) stays ON, even with the door shut. Does anyone know what fuse/relay may cause this to happen? The car really isn't drivable this way since it would drain the battery for sure.

Thanks.

Mods, can you plz move this thread to Problems and Troubleshooting?

THis is an urgent issue that I'd like help with ASAP

LOL yeah, once my car operates normally lol. The thing almost caught on fire. I also have to clean up the fire extinguisher mess. That stuff is nasty, and my interior and dash is COVERED in it now.

Any other suggestions?

C'mon guys!

These were 2 aftermarket fans mounted to my heat exchanger. Apparently the switch was wired wrong or the wire was too small and it melted and burned all kinds of ****. Not good at all.

ya if you ran power thru the switch it wouldn't enjoy that. Not sure if this is or could be the issue but check the door trigger. it might have messed up so the car doesnt think the door is closed. you can always test to see if thats the problem by turning off the car and waiting the 10mins to see if it shuts off

Thank you for all the help though, I appreciate it!

Anyway, I got home from work after the battery was disconnected since Wednesday night. Started the car, let it run for a few minutes. Pulled the key out, bam. Everything started functioning properly. Next, I checked all of the wiring that was affected, which was just factory wire loom at most, and retaped it so it was sealed once again. I then started dissassembly of the interior so I could clean the mess the fire extinguisher made (and also a good reason to pull the seats and do a thorough carpet cleaning).

After cleaning, I got a new switch (2 post), and wired that up the way I've done it in the past. The issue was I used a 3 prong lighted switch (factory hummer fog light switch), and asked a buddy how to wire it. He was incorrect by saying, 1 is power, 1 is ground and 1 is signal. The power and ground must have shorted everything out, thus killing the wire.

Here are some pictures of my fan setup, and some of me cleaning the mess I made with the fire extinguisher lol.

Get a Halon extinguisher semi-illegal but its a clean agent and works awesome. Best of all no mess.

I may have to do that. Can't hurt to have a fire extinguisher in the car at all times.

I don't have any results from the fans yet, I'm having a friend repair my interceptor cable, but once I get the cable back and the gauge working again, I'll post some IAT2 numbers.

I'm pretty confident they will work though, they flow 1100cfm each. And they were only 25 bucks each from frozenboost!
