Cheapest sound upgrade????
Cheapest sound upgrade????
have an 09 balt sstc. stock factory sound system. 2 tweets, 2 door speakers and 2 rear ones, along with trunk mounted sub.
first off , how watts and channels is factory amp?
secondly, what is the cheapest way to get more bump and volume?
can i just swap out 2 door and back speakers for better ones? (leaving factory amp and head unit)
can i do two compact subs under front seats and disconnect stock trunk sub?
i dont want to spend more than 5 bills, i'm not sure of my options here

with sound its better to spend the money and get a good set of speakers, gold end wiring, a good amp, and properly sized box if your adding extra woofers. spend the money and your ears will thank you, also a good screen/deck helps as well.
idk about ALL of that>>>> cant u just get 4 new door/deck speakers , a cheap amp and a cheap sub and keep trunk one goin as well
yea exactly... i wanted to keep stock HU. i thought with these cars if u do an aftermarket HU u have to hack up stock panel for it to fit???? with that in mind can i just keep hu stock and get a separate 2 channel amp to power stock trunk sub and an aftermarket sub? and have stock amp power 4 new speakers?
replace your head unit. The difference is huge and is by far your cheapest
your stock head unit is crap. It doesnt have nearly the sound processing cape ability that an after market one does

I added an amp to boost my factory sub and I'm perfectly happy with my sound system. Spending hundreds upon hundreds of dollars on sound systems for someone like me who doesn't see the need or point to it all is just a waste of money.

if you have the pioneer system swapping out JUST the door speakers is a bad idea. cheapest option is a good HU liek someone above stated. if you swap just the door speakers and do nothing else it will get quieter
pioneer walmart edition speakers are by far worse then stock pioneer. **** probably worse then stock LS speakers too

You wouldnt need to hack anything up. All you would need for a head unit install would be a trim kit like this one Pontiac In-dash Receiver Kit Fits select 2006-up models Chassis size E at Crutchfield.com , an antenna adapter, and then you would need to track down the appropriate wire harness for your vehicle so that it will run right, otherwise you will have issues in the cars performance down the road, trust me, i speak from experience on that one. It seems like there is some body control modules in the factory head unit. If you have a best buy or audio store around you, I am sure they would be able to help you find everything you need.
