Door Locks Not Working Correctly

Car is a 2006 SS 2D Coupe.

Problem: When I use my key fob to unlock/lock the car, the 'alarm' aspect functions correctly without issue (headlights flash when unlocked, alarm light on dash illuminates when locked), but the door locks do not actuate up or down, and there is no noise suggesting that they are attempting to work.

Some notes:

- This issue arose at the same time with both doors. I'd assume that odds are that both actuators would not fail at the same time, so it must be something else.

- Fuse in-cabin is in good working order.

- Awhile ago, I actually removed the dash trim that houses the switch for the trunk lid-- I detached the button's harness from the trim piece, put it back together exactly as taken apart, and the trunk lid release stopped working. Did not respond using the fob, and the button seems to be 'pushed in' all the way. I've just been using the key-- no big deal.

Any ideas or suggestions would be fantastic. I'm firmly standing by the fact that I feel that the issue is not related to the actuators.

1) Nope, not without me knowing about it. I did swap a radio, though. Car was off with the battery disconnected the entire time. Nothing shorted.

2) The button feels like it's stuck inward, so it can't be pushed any further.

Would the trunk release button also cause issues with the door locks malfunctioning?

So I'm assuming the signs are pointing to both actuators going bad.. Just seems really odd to me...
