because the LSJ alt is a crazy ass design and no one makes larger (high output) alts to replace the stock one so doing that would require a custom wound alt (not sure how much that would cost) plus im getting over 200% more current and capacity with by going dual alt

The efficiency range of a 42 volt alternator is vastly superior to ANY 12 volt alternator ever made. Even after stepping things down, you'd have a huge gain in available power.

huh and who makes these now or how did u get this info? Not saying i dont believe you but just wondering

i went with a 16v setup for that exact reason efficiency (or at least that was one deciding factor)

It's one of the many things manufacturers have been working on with getting solenoid controlled valves to work on street vehicles, as well as getting better efficiency out of hybrid battery packs.
