No. You will need an inverter.

A line-out converter/or inverter (I forget which it is). Converts regular speaker out-puts into low level in-puts (RCA cables) for the amplifier. Get the best ones you can find, I have seen some very cheap-ones that caused distortion. You need to splice in between the radio and factory amp. Connecting into the wires at the sub will be the incorrect signal.
You will need this set up if you are using an aftermarket amp.

I'm not familiar with any other steering wheel control converters, but I just ordered that one for my Alpine. The nice thing about the Alpine is that it plugs directly in to the back of it, so I won't need to mount an infrared eye. The less holes I drill in my car the better, especially since it's a lease.

Right now, I have the 7998, which is a great head unit. After debating for awhile, I finally jumped on the iPod train, and now I need a head unit to control it. The 7998 will control it, but it just lets you skip through tracks, nothing else. I just ordered the 9855 on Monday, and hopefully it will be here on Friday. With the 9855 I can choose Artists, Playlists and basically every other essential iPod function. It will also let me just plug the PAC in to the back of it. Less wiring is always a plus. Let me know if you have questions, I've got some knowledge on the stock system, and even though it's fairly impressive for factory, it still sucks for wanting loud, clean music.

From the sound of things, I would ask your friends about a local reputable car audio dealer. I'm sure you don't want to start cutting and splicing wires in your brand new car. Then when you short out something and the dealer tells you to get bent about getting it fixed under warranty, right?
