This is my first thread, and I was wondering if you can make the factory sub hit harder. I dont mean by using the head unit.

 

Boost it with a separate amp. Don't go too crazy on wattage though or it will not be amused.

if anything find a slim sub that will fit in the box, amp it and your good to go.

Might not be much of a point but it does work. I'm running my sub with a 300W Pioneer amp and it hits way harder than it used to and it's still going. Should it decide to buy the farm I'll then replace it with a shallow mount sub.

 

would a 10" rockford fosgate p3 shallow mount fit?

 

The stock amp is the biggest weak point. Any aftermarket one is going to kick the ass of the stock pioneer one. That being said, don't expect to put a ton of power through the stock sub... it distorts heavily after a certain point. The stock sub I had in the G5 (I added it to the base level audio) was powered by a cheap ass amp and it did much better than the stock setup in the SS.

 

lol find the specs and build a ported box for it... make that **** bang on 10watts
