Gen 1 projector question.

Just recently I purchased a set of gen 1 projectors with a 10k HID kit and ive been having issues with it ever since, 1 ballast had to be replaced, and i just had a bulb replaced....heres a before and after with the new bulb installed (new bulb is passenger side)

before

after

this is the response I got from the vendor. "There not designed for HIDs. You most likely will always have color differences. any jolt from bumps will move the projectors ever so much to change the spacing (which they said changes the color). "

is there any truth to this? I do not know that much about how HID's work and the brand new headlights have been giving me trouble ever since I installed them...

any help appreciated

The cheap HID kits usually do stuff like this. The quality control isn't too good so the bulb's color temperature is hit and miss. When replacing bulbs it's usually best to replace both at the same time to help you keep the colors close. As for the whole hitting a bump moving the projectors, that sounds like a load of bull. If they moved around enough to "change the spacing" they would fall apart.

what is the name of a quality HID brand? When i bought the headlights the HID kit came with it so I really didnt have a choice. another $80-$100 down the drain....awesome

also...what would cause the colors to swap like that. In the "before" picture the drivers side was perfectly blue, and right after installing the new bulb on the other side it turned pinkish

i would go thru the connections again just in case but id guess **** bulbs... maybe swap bulbs from one side to the other to see if its the bulb or the projector/ballast/wiring... ect
