good idea? let me know..

I have an idea on an amp rack type thing in the trunk....

I am thinking about making a board for two amps that will hang vertically on the horizontal metal piece on the deck. Let me know if you think this is a good idea and if it will/will not work. Thanks

I'd say not a good idea, but you try it and tell us how it works.

LOL i think i am. It just seems like a good idea cause like you could hide all the wires behind it, but they would still be accessible from the back seats...
And it wouldnt be just like hanging there lol, i would make it fit tightly to the shape of the trunk, but ill try it soon and let you all know how it goes.

Why don't you try mounting it to cross member with the amps facing the back seats, then place your subs facing the back of the car thus covering up the wires, then when you pull the back seats down it will show the amps, if you do it your way, no matter what you do the subs will cover up the amps besides if you have to get at the amp wires, don't half ass it, just take the amp rack out and fix it, whjat you want to be able to get at is the settings on the amp (gain, x-over ect) if you do what your thinking of the getting at the gain on your amp for example is going to be a biotch

ya at the shop we always mount amps on the back of the seat because you can hide all the wire other then the few inches up the seat (wire loom fixes that part) and it allows people to unhook their subs and take them out without having to mess with the amp. one of the main things that kills amps is vibrations from being mounted on the box and people messing with amp settings is the number one killer of subs. So mounting on the seat normally prevents both of those
