Head unit swap?

I was looking at my wife's Acadia, and started to wonder( I wonder if the head unit and Hvac would fit in my 07?) If you look at it, it actually looks the same, but the bonus,,,the illumination matches our dash.Instead of that shitty green, its white with a red glow on the buttons and around the volume ***. Could these 2 be paired with the SS? If it can be done, i will go buy the parts,do it, and post it with pics.

hvac defiantly not and HU not easily at all. it would bolt up but the shape of the dash is different and the gm lan data is different... very improbable

Would it be possible to swap the front face of the radio? Sorry for asking retarded questions, but i cant find anything on it. Is there a way to change our radio color?

changing the color is possible but what it intails i have no idea. Our radio has a face that comes off and from there im sure you can change the bulbs or remove the colored film or whatever to change the color but i doubt you could swap faces from one vehicle to the other assuming the acadia even comes off

dude, i hate to be a nay sayer and all......yea, its probably possible (the swap from your wifes car)...is it practical? hell no. Yes, pretty much anything can be done with some custom work, a lot of effort, and a whole lot of knowledge and experience, but if you have to ask, no offense, it's probably beyond your realm (emphasizing the fact that I'm not trying to be a dick here).

If you're looking for a nice, clean cut factory looking unit with an ungodly amount of color customization (your goals here it seems), go with this kenwood DPX308U:

Kenwood DPX308U CD receiver at Crutchfield.com

We sell the **** out of these to people wanting ipod control with a display that matches their cluster/dash etc...nothing but good responses too.

It's out of stock @ crutchfield right now, but their next shipment comes in on the 7th of july, which should give you enough time to set aside $200 for it. Free shipping and comes with all the install gear you need and the instructions. Wouldn't try to find this other places online because the lowest is $167 (usually on scammer sites) and doesn't come with the kit, wiring harness, etc, which will end up putting your total at about $200 anyways.

Thanks for all the info. I just thought even from the pursuit g5 GT would be a direct swap.I just like how its white with red instead of green. I just want to do what GM should have done. Why the **** they would put that radio in, boggles me? Why did we get a shitty green, and the Pontiac got one that matches? I will find a way, even my door switches will be changed. so when i get it done(SOON) i will post pics... Thanks again
