Help! Replacing Factory Sub with Sub and Amp

Hello,

I could use your expert advise!
I don't know much about car audio but I HAVE done hours of research on this site and many others. Countless pages of reading, etc.

I want to do this...
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-guide-43/how-upgrade-stock-pioneer-sub-sound-awesome-look-stock-pics-160955/
"Replace factory Sub with Aftermarket Sub and Amp"
I have a 2006, SS and obviously with the Pioneer factory sound system.

I thought about using the suggested Sub and Amp in the above mentioned how-to thread but they are not easy to find and have since been replaced with upgraded models.

I would like to stay with all Pioneer if possible and have the system look factory.

I only want to replace the factory 10" Sub with an aftermarket 10" Sub and add eitther a 2 Channel Amp or Mono Amp. Which ever makes more sense?
All other changes are not needed.
I just want a little more "thump".

I am considering these options:

Amp:

Pioneer GM-5400T 760-Watt, 2-Channel Power Amplifier (Like this amplifier)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER
I plan on Bridging this Amp.

or

A smaller Amplifier of any brand that will create less heat and possibly hide under the trunk carpet, to the left of the battery.
Such as,
Kenwood KAC-8105D
http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entert...iers/KAC-8105D

Sub:

Pioneer TS-SW2501S4 (Like this sub)
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130TSS2...ab=other_items

or

Kenwood KFC-XW1000F 1000W 10" Shallow Subwoofer
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...A2TGMCZ4O2P52Z
"I have heard that this will fit without cutting and drilling of the stock enclosure which is really nice!"

I would love your help in picking the best components I can and ones that match well together.
Thank you!

Are you using the stock head unit or an aftermarket one?? If it were me doing it i would say F the stock wiring in that box and run my own wires to the box... i would use an aftermarket stereo too... doing so all you would need to do is run the RCA cables to the amp and remote wire. then all you got to do it run the positive and negative from the amp to the sub.... done!
