I put in a aftermarket deck

and the damn volume will go up and down while I am driving. Its not like the stock on does. Rolling 70 down the freeway it will get loud and then soft. Any Ideas?

what head unit make/model? did you use adapters to wire into the factory harness or did you splice into yourself?

sounds like either a bad ground or a cheap HU. Y-ing out the speaker wire will do that too

I was thinking it was the deck. I used to build DB drag cars back in the day and had this happen to a car back then to. It was a lose wire in the head unit and the bass would make it do that.
