iPhone 4 n 4s users Pioneer 4300

With the ios6 update (I have yet to commit from ios5). I'm skeptical if it will be compadable with my pioneer 4300 double din. If you did the update and successfully connected with your pioneer. Chime in or provide a review. I'd do it myself, if it didn't work out I have nooo clue on how to downgrade back to ios 5 lol.

have the 4300 but use my nano 5th gen, you shouldn't have any issues. Actually scratched mine a few months ago with the shotgun case... can't see it at night though

I'll never forgive myself. A reason to get a new model

No reason why it shouldn't work.
I have a 4300 and 4S. Nothing's changing in terms of iPod out, video or music.

Fun thing though, I read the adapter for the iPhone 5 doesn't support iPod Out so looks like it won't work until Pioneer fabs up a lightning connector for video.

You can buy adapters from apple to use the iphone5 with the older iphone/ipod connection, they're like $25-30 a piece though.

Yes, but apparently the new connector doesn't do iPod video out, because Apple is going wireless with Airplay.

Gonna have to wait and see what Pioneer/Apple comes up with, otherwise don't get the iPhone 5 if you rely on your iPhone and car radio.

Does your radio have the seperate component cables coming from the USB adapter?

They didn't cut out video and audio output completely, it's just now an all digital format. The old 30 pin adapter had pins for analog audio and video out. That's why some head units won't work with the iphone 5. If all you did before was connect with a USB connection, and no other special cable was required, then it should work exactly the same as before.

idk alot of this speculation about the lighting makes it seem like they did the reverse.... but hard to say until the phone and connector actually comes out and companies start trying things out to see what works and what doesnt

Yes, the Pioneer video cable has a usb and aux end on it to plug into the head unit.
A friend of mine is getting the 5 today, so I'll just pick up an adapter for her and try it out, I'm not counting on it though, according to avic411 forums.

I also have the AVH-4300
